Sora Jederan Shpack is a composer, writer, flutist, collaborative artist whose compositions are driven by her passion to engage with people and convey story, emotion and experience. Sora enjoys working with community groups, composing for choirs, band, orchestra or small ensembles. She has received commissions and awards from the from The Park Foundation and The Level Green Foundation, Montserrat Music Composition Festival, the Grassroots Festival, FingerLakes Flutes, VOICES Multicultural Chorus, Ithaca Flute Duo and Champlain Valley Voices. Sora studied flute at Stetson University with Geofrey Gilbert, Dalcorze in NYC with Hilda Schuster, music composition at Carnegie Mellon University with Leonardo Balada. Sora has enjoyed working with the teachers and students involved in the Harmony Project and is proud of the work they all did to make this a successful experience for everyone.
