About
Our current “Concertos for Young Soloists” project involves twenty-five composers who have submitted innovative concert band and string orchestra pieces to be recorded and presented in collaboration with participants of the “Building Bridges through Music” festival. The compositions in this project are short concertos featuring a beginner-level solo part with an intermediate-level accompaniment.
In 2016 we conducted a successful pilot study with the Harmony Project Phoenix and the ASU Concert Band, which is comprised of non-majors from numerous disciplines, many of whom study in the honors college. Seven ASU composition students submitted a 3-minute concerto to be performed and recorded.
