About this Piece Daniel Kallman
While this gentle bossa nova is scored flexibly for five instrumental parts, it may be played with only four wind players when the fifth part is covered by a bass (electric or acoustic, or even a keyboard with a bass sound). A pianist is optional but strongly preferred. I dedicate this piece to Juan Tony Guzmán, Director of Jazz Studies at Luther College, in honor of his musical mentorship to thousands of students at our alma mater and throughout the world.
