About this Piece Eric Xu
This piece was influenced by the Latin social dance scene in Arizona. Latin music is inescapable in the Southwest, so I wanted to incorporate its sultry harmonies and rhythms into a mixed level composition where both advanced and beginner musicians can let loose and have some fun.
The title “Cozy Rainy Morning” was inspired by a refreshing morning rain after a long stint of hot blistering summer heat in Phoenix. It was cloudy outside and the smell of desert rain permeated the air. I just wanted to sit at home and relax all day--what a relief the rain was from the relentless sun. |
